Mitsubishi Eclipse 2000 Timing Belt

Well, after much ranting and raving offline, the Great Hubby has figured it out! yayayayay. (picture the muppets screaming yay and flailing their arms here)....

My hubby is the MAN! He changed the timing belt, the plugs, figured out what was going on...he's awesome. I owe him a debt of gratitude and probably some back rubs and nice meals, to boot.

FYI, in case you have this car, after you properly change the timing belt and timing belt tension adjuster as recommended, then you want to turn the car over by hand to make sure there are no obstructions. Then, crank it up for awhile, it will tap like a chinese water torture device, but this is "Normal". Apparently the oil has drained from the lifters while it has sat in the garage and the engine needs to come up to temp. If you need more info, post a reply to this message.
